Covid-19 statement May 6, 2020
Moving forward together for your health and the future of your career.
Since 1944, our community is our top priority. Always has been and always will be.
As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves and local, state, and federal authorities announce plans to reopen California, it has become clear that adjusting our original 2020 California HR Conference schedule is imperative to ensuring the health of our attendees and community.
Rafael Rivera, host of the California HR Conference, and CEO of Professionals In Human Resources Association, announces today the postponement of our 2020 annual event. Please see his official statement below followed by a list of questions you may have regarding this decision and our answers.
As always, you can reach us with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The health and safety of our members and community is our highest priority. Like you, we are monitoring the latest news about the Novel Coronavirus.
Governor Newsom recently outlined a cautious four-step plan to reopen California. The use of the Long Beach Convention Center for our annual conference appears to be contingent on reaching Stage 4.
Because we do not believe it would be feasible to present our event from August 30 – September 2, we are postponing to the fall. Additional details including the implementation of new guidelines based on health experts and elected officials will be announced by June 8.
Your investment is safe with us. We are going to make sure you have multiple options without fees or penalties to transfer or cancel registrations and exhibits. If we are not able to meet in person, we will evolve to offer a virtual experience in 2020.
Thank you for the patience and support. We look forward to hosting you in the fall.
Is the 2020 California HR Conference still happening?
Yes, we are creating a hybrid event (both an in-person and virtual experience) over new dates and with a new format.
Why did PIHRA decide to postpone the 2020 California HR Conference?
Is there a new refund policy?
Yes. All registered attendees will automatically be transferred to the fall 2020 California HR Conference. Attendees may also defer registrations to the 2021 California HR Conference from August 30 to September 1, 2021 in Long Beach, CA or request a refund. The option to request a refund will open once we announce the new fall dates.
Can I transfer my 2020 California HR Conference registration to the 2021 California HR Conference?
Yes. Please hold onto this request until we publish our official form.
